Supporting Friends of the Osterhout Free Library’s 42nd Annual Book Sale

On June 12th, 2018, our CBI Cares Team volunteered to assist with set up for the Friends of the Osterhout Free Library’s 42nd Annual Book Sale in Wilkes Barre, PA. Arielle, Andrea and Rob spent the day organizing hundreds of books ranging from child to adult reading levels, as well as audiovisual options.

The Book Sale is presented and coordinated by the Friends of the Library, a community minded group of volunteers formed in 1972. The group was originally created to help restore the devastated library collection following the Agnes Flood and support ongoing operations. Now focusing their efforts on an annual book sale to benefit the Library, it is the Friends’ goal to surpass $500,000 in all-time sales this year and exceed their 2017 Book Sale total of $24,012.

Rain or shine, the Friends of the Osterhout Free Library’s 42nd Annual Book Sale will run from June 16th through June 23rd, 2018. So, stop by 71 South Franklin Street in Wilkes Barre to support the region’s “premiere book sale!”
