Court Ruling Regarding Free Preventive Care Expected Soon

COVID-19 5-Day Isolation Period Dropped

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced on March 1, 2024, that COVID-19 guidelines are being loosened due to better virus risk management and fewer COVID-19-related hospitalizations and deaths.

While individuals were previously asked to isolate for 5 days when diagnosed with COVID-19, now the CDC states that isolation is no longer necessary once an individual has been fever-free for a minimum of 24 hours without the aid of medication and so long as other symptoms are improving.

To curb the spread of disease, individuals are still encouraged to clean common places frequently and consistently wash their hands over 5 days as a preventive measure. As per previous recommendations, individuals should still consider staying up-to-date with the latest COVID-19 vaccines, covering coughs and sneezes, and increasing air ventilation by using air purifiers or opening windows for fresh air.
