History
Charmaine Harrison-Tummings joined Creative Benefits, Inc. in 2005 after seeking a new opportunity within the health insurance industry. Having previously worked alongside the firm as a client, she was already familiar with its service approach and culture.
From the start, her experience and perspective stood out. What began as a career transition quickly became a long-term commitment, laying the foundation for a department that would significantly influence how the organization supports its clients and their employees.
Career Evolution
Charmaine began her career at Creative Benefits as a Life and Disability Account Manager before transitioning to the Medical Account Management team. Her leadership and industry knowledge led to her promotion to Team Leader several years later.
Recognizing an opportunity to further support clients, she proposed the creation of a dedicated service team focused solely on assisting employees with their benefits. This vision aligned with the company’s service-first philosophy and led to the development of what is now known as the Benefits Assist Team.
Looking Ahead
Charmaine’s leadership has played a key role in shaping a service model centered on responsiveness, collaboration, and empathy. The continued success of the Benefits Assist Team reflects a commitment to continuous learning and shared knowledge across the organization.
For someone new to the industry, she offered this advice:
Be patient with yourself and stay open to learning.
You must speak up, ask questions, and don’t underestimate the value of experience over time. Build relationships, stay adequate, and trust that consistency, integrity, and hard work will open doors.
