Aetna, a CVS Health company, recently announced the launch of the Attain Games — a virtual event that includes a series of healthy activities created by high caliber U.S. athletes to help Attain by Aetna members achieve their health goals while focusing on at-home wellness. The Attain app provides Aetna members with personalized goals, tracks their daily activity levels, recommends healthy actions, and ultimately rewards them upon completion.
The Games will take place from August 23rd to August 29th; and medals will be awarded on September 2nd. All current Attain users are eligible to participate if they have downloaded the latest version of the Attain app and have allowed Attain to access activity data through their Health app.
How It Works
Each day users will be presented with six challenges to complete, worth 50 points each. Activities include physical workouts using equipment found at home, as well as breathing and mindfulness exercises. After the games have concluded, gold, silver, and bronze status will be determined based on the number of points earned by each user. Points earned can go towards paying off their Apple Watch or can be redeemed for gift cards.
“It’s important that especially during times where our mental health is also being put to the test, that we are taking care of our bodies with nutritious foods, mindfulness activities, and plenty of exercise. The Attain Games are a great way to come together as a community for a bit of healthy competition, and I’m thrilled to help play a small part in motivating people to feel good physically and mentally.”Tatyana McFadden, American World-Champion Athlete
In the first year of the Attain by Aetna app launch, users have achieved:
- 6 billion calories burned
- 233 million workout minutes
- 6.8 million daily goals conquered
- 6 million healthy actions completed
- $1.8 million redeemed in rewards
“We’re hoping our members will strive to achieve their personal health and wellness goals by participating in the Attain Games, all with the help of some of the most celebrated athletes representing the United States cheering them on,” said Jonathan Mayhew, Executive Vice President and Chief Transformation Officer for CVS Health.
*Users who do not enroll and do not have a watch shipped in Attain on or after August will not be able to participate in the Attain Games. Do not attempt the Attain Games challenges if you have a medical condition that will be affected or if your doctor advises you not to take part in physical activity. There may be an alternative to earn rewards by different means.
